Hello. My name is Lauren, I am 21 years young, and vegan of course. My lifestyle has transitioned since I became a vegetarian in high school to now a vegan in college. Over the years I have learned so much about animal cruelty, veganism, health, and nutrition. I continue and actively search out new info on vegan health and companies. My hope for this blog is to connect with many more vegans in the U.S and other countries if possible and share the food I so enjoy and the recipes that I experiment with. Any messages about veganism from my fellow vegans/raw foodists/vegetarians are happily accepted and encouraged. I hope to meet many more like-minded people that love animals and strive to live a cruelty-free life as I do.

EatPastry

eat pastryI couldn’t believe my eyes when I stumbled upon Eat Pastry at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I have never seen it in person before so it was a must buy, especially with it being on sale for 2.98. I had a little taste of out the container and loved it right away. I was so anxious to put it in the oven; my cookies never come out good, the few times I have tried at least. While watching them in the oven, I noticed that somehow the oven magically turned off. The cause of the non-cooking and melting cookies was now solved. In the end, they were too flat and hard, but still tasty. Hopefully the next batch will be much better. Have you tried this flavor or any of the other ones? Please feel free to comment on you experiences with this yummy vegan cookie dough.

The first batch is gone, except for one lonesome cookie. I might have had two of them this morning with homemade almond butter. Ok, I did and it was so worth it. With one remaining, I had to make a second batch this afternoon; keeping a close eye on them so that they would come out as perfect as possible. I urged my mom to try one and she seemed to like it well enough. It is great when a non-vegan can enjoy a vegan cookie. I will be enjoying these for the next few days.

I found silver hills brand at Target today

bread & bars

I was so excited to see this brand at Target. I have never seen it before and really wanted to try it. Topped it with Sabra hummus (instead of making my own), nutritional yeast, pink sea salt, black pepper, and a little turmeric. Satisfying dinner for sure. I have had pretty much all of the Probar flavors and love them all. It was so cool to see them at bed, bath, and beyond. My mom told me that there is a world market at the store and I have been so anxious to check it out. Of course as we leave the store, it begins snowing again. Walking in the slush is no fun, especially in the boot/slippers I chose to wear. So sad that I have no produce from whole foods; the weather will only be getting worse over the next few days.
